My grill has been running for 40 minutes and is still 95 degrees below the set temperature, any thoughts as to why?

I’m currently burning BBQ’s delight pellets.

Thanks for your input,

Same with my 1500 too. Was just about to put up a post around this but you beat me too it.

One thing im noticing though (which was way different from the old controller) is that display temps are now tracking the two door gauges which normally were over 70f off so the chamber is definitely hotter than before for a set temp so maybe thats it.

Thanks DevilsGrill, glad i'm not the only one experiencing this, should you find a solution I love to hear about it!

I'm not sure if Yoder customer support is working during this Covid-19 outbreak (the marketing dept is working), I've sent 2 emails and have got no response.

Same issue here. Temp outside is 78 degrees with almost no wind. I have tried BBQr's delight and lumberjack pellets with the same result. Pellets are stored in a dry place and have not taken on any moisture. It takes almost an hour and a half to get up to temp and then won't maintain it. I had the temp set to 350 for 2.5 hours and it only got up to 350 twice in that whole time period. I just fired it up again tonight and it is doing the same thing. It gets to a little over 260 and then the auger backs down and the temp drops dramatically. Not sure what I am doing wrong. I come from a stick burner background and this is my first pellet smoker. I fully understand that there is probably a learning curve here, but I cooked with a friends pellet smoker that literally cost 10 times less and was able to get it to temp and keep a consistent temp. Glad to know I am not the only one having issues. A little lost and frustrated here.

Yeah it would be great to get some online advice from Team Yoder but it seems like a ghost town here at the moment unfortunately.

Cooked some chicken wings yesterday with a set temp of 350 (and then 400) and found myself holding down the prime button on many occasions in an attempt to pump some more heat into the chamber after approx 70 mins of waiting.

DevilsGrill, just wondering if you had this problem with the old controller?
I purchased my YS1500s with the ACS controller so all I can compare it to is my old YS640

Mattw, thanks for adding some fuel to the fire!

I understand that the Yoder people are busy but some answers would be nice.

Just a fyi on my expierence:

I had an issue less than two weeks ago and emailed. Waited a day or two for a response and then decided to call...I did have to leave a voice mail as most are working from home. About 24-36 hours later I did receive a call and got my issue resolved. If I remember right tech support was not as good as sales as far as a response.

Yeah, I figured I would follow up my post with an email / call to support as well. I also expected a slower response right now as most of the country is still dealing with Covid-19. Their support team has always been great for me in the past. I plan on just cooking with it and learning the pit as much as i can the mean time.

So to also close this one out for me who was also experiencing the same issue Yoder sent me (via the Aus distributor) a new pit thermocouple which I installed last weeks and my YS1500 is all good again. I also removed the shroud that covered it as the new ACS version is much shorter than the old one which made cleaning somewhat difficult.
