Steaming crabs

Quick question for herb. I’ve read everything on water pans and wondering if anyone has put a water pan under the drip tray right next to the firebox? Just looking to steam crabs my brisket turns out wonderful I’m not looking to add water every cook or question the massive amount of testing you’ve done with pans and air flow. Thanks
