Extending the smoke ventilation tube

Hello All,

I've got a new YS640S and have a question. I've got it positioned under a overhang outside of my backyard patio door. I've like to divert the smoke to outside of the overhang instead of having to move the smoker every time I wish to use it. I'm considering attaching a 3 inch diameter aluminum flexible duct to redirect the smoke further away from the house.

My questions are:

1. will the aluminum stand up to the heat? Here is what I am looking at: https://www.amazon.com/301-3-Aluminum-F ... B000KKMBDY

2. Will this affect the internal temperature of the smoker in any way?

Thanks!!

Spencer

I have been using one for years. Posted a pic here maybe a year back. Don't leave it tight around the smoke stack, My alum tube is a 4" size.

I had the same problem. Went to a muffler shop with the exhaust tube and had them bend scrap piece for me at a 45 degree angle extending the exhaust about 2 feet out. See pictures. Worked for me. No effects on temperatures that I noticed.
