I have had a 640 comp for many years now - have been very happy with it.......

Now that the new ceramic ignition is out, I'm thinking of upgrading to a 1500.... I'm up north in Wisconsin and cook all year long, I have noticed a huge difference of pellet consumption in the colder months, so I bought a Thermal Insulating Jacket for my 640, and it made a huge difference. From what I can see on the site - is the steel thickness the same between the 640 and the 1500 ? blanket is not avail for the 1500......

I'm hoping that all that I have read that the upgrade is worth it......

Thanks

Patrick

The cooking chamber on the YS640 is 10 gauge, and the YS1500 is 3/16". So the YS1500 is thicker and heavier steel.
