What temp for maximum smoke?

I have heard someone say that they believe 275f produces more smoke than lower temps on a 640s. This is contrary to what I generally read on most forums or for other brands of smokers.
Is there any published or company testing around what temperature produces maximum smoke on the 640s?

I think there is much more smoke at lower temperatures. When I cook at 225, there is a very thick column of smoke from the stack. When I crank it up to over 300, the exhaust is clear.
