I have a YS640 and find the emptying and maintenance of the grease bucket the only pain when cleaning up... any tricks out there to make cleanup cleaner and easier?

Line it with foil or paper towels, put a glass jar in the bucket, use a paint bucket instead...

I remove and clean as needed. If I had a 180 lb dog I'd make it drip into a pan on the patio. Can't be much easier than than warming up on the stove on very very low to thin the grease for 30 seconds or so, setting over an empty coffee can and letting drain. I don't even wear gloves, I'm like that.

I don't empty unless it was 9 chickens or 6 pork butts, and on the semi-annual uber cleaning. Years ago I would scrub the inside and try to make like new. Then I realized it's an outdoor smoker grease bucket. It's not my kitchen sink. Which is spotlessly scrubbed 1.5 times a day.

Take a large piece of foil and form it around the outside of the bucket. Remove and put on inside of bucket and press in to fit.

I use foil. Get two sheets 12x12 or so, make a fist, wrap your hand, do the moonwalk and line your bucket!

The best trick I've discovered is buying a stack of 50 disposable Chinese food containers from Amazon. I fold the flaps in and bend the metal handle into an upside down V. The V hangs on the hook. I just throw it away when it's full. Works like a charm and no clean up. You can get 50 containers for about $15 and each one last a while.

I use empty #10 cans and just set them on the ground. Works great!
