Hello,

Is it possible to have just the fan running without the actual pit lit? I like to cold smoke and think that the fans pushing air through the chamber would turn out a better product. Any info on this would be great.

Thank you

The fan turns on when you toggle the 640 switch to the "ON" position on mine so you can run it w/ the fan on with no heat if you don't hit the "start" button. Not sure if all 640's do this or not, but it would work on mine.

Absolutely. Plug the power cord in, and flip the power switch to on, and DO NOT hit the start button. The fans will run until you flip the power switch to off. Remember to always unplug your cooker when not in use.

I ran my YS1500 that way today. It's works great. One more reason to love Yoder.

Fantastic news!! I was wondering the same thing myself but I thought the fan turned off after a few minutes, never went that long without hitting start. The last time I cold smoked some cheese I put a small desk fan in the bottom chamber to put moving air over an A-Maze-N pellet smoke generator. It worked OK but using the fan will be so much easier! Thanks.
