It would be very helpful if somebody from Yoder made a video of how you do this procedure. A video would definitely make it a lot easier to do. I don't have my YS 640 yet, but I want to be on top of maintenance when its needed.

If you are waiting for your 640 to arrive, then you will be receiving the new firebox and the new burn grate installed in your cooker. These 2 items will allow your silicone seal to last with out as much routine maintenance. Inspection is as simple as running your finger over the silicone seals to see if any of it has lifted or come loose.

For the cookers with the older firepot and burn grate, proper routine maintenance is all that is required to maintain your silicone seals.
