Do you currently plan on having your controllers go WiFi in the future

I sure hope you come out with one soon. If you do I'll buy a YS640 or Ys1500 Competition.

You need wifi for perfect smoke? Many products monitor temps, I use one, it's not wifi. Looks like you want a no instead of perfect smoke.

I had a GMG w/ wifi and it's very much over rated. I never used it to change temps and only used it to check in on temps. A Tappecue solved for this and works much, much better than the GMG wifi controller. I also get a detailed report at the end of my cook. Check out a Tappecue or equiv.

I have a GMG also, dont use the app much at all and the meat probe is way off.

Since getting my YS640 i have been using a Fireboard with 2 pit temp probes and 4 meat probes. It has wifi and bluetooth and will send alerts or text messages if you want it too.

I had a gmg Jim Bowie and used the WiFi every cook and loved it. I guarantee Yoder would sell more if they did it

I'd definitely buy the upgrade to wifi if it came out.

Ditto. Not a just have but if I were buying today I would probably give RecTec a chance instead.

It's been 2 years since the last reply. It doesn't look like Yoder has added any WiFi. Anything on the horizon?

I may be old fashioned, but I'm wondering: how is Wi-Fi going to do anything about how you cook meat? Is it meant to give you some kind of limited remote control activity in order to maintain optimal temperatures and smoke density even when you're away from the thing?

New here but do have a Yoder YS640 and it is great. WiFi would be incredible because sometimes in the middle of the night you see the meat temps starting to come closer to done and you need to drop it to slow the cook, or, if you want to schedule a temp change and the weather is poor, it’s easy to just throttle the temp.

I used to use the flameboss on my other smoker and it was great at keeping temp but also very convenient in the way of dropping my 225 down to 205/202 for the last few hours to let it ride (makes the meat super soft and great for shredded brisket sandwiches).

I know it would be great for me... thanks!

Any thoughts on adding a WiFi module/controller? Even if it was a usb add on so it wasn’t a built in function that would be great (using the firmware update port); long cooks, adjusting for ambient temps and so on are helpful when the little monsters (kiddos) are around.

Indeed they do. And Fireboard's implementation is the best in my opinion.
