It's great to have a forum dedicated to my favorite smoker!

I've been using pellet poopers for 8+ years. My first one was a Traeger BBQ125 Executive (that I paid $2K for in 2006!). I still have it, after numerous igniter rod failures and the now currently dead auger motor. Instead of replacing the motor, I bought a YS640 (for just less than $2K, but with all the options, save the comp. cart!). I also had the misfortune of working for Traeger for several months (AZ sales manager). Big oops on my part. Like I said, I've been pooping for quite awhile.

I'm also really happy to see several friends already here!

Sorry it took me a week to get this first post up. My bad.

Welcome from Boston. I used a Traeger Texas (one of the original, US mfr'd ones...) as my intro to pellet smoking quite a few years ago. The YS640 was such a huge upgrade, I can't even really compare the two...forget about the current, Chinese models...not even in the same league...

Glad to see you made the switch!
