Hello everyone! I'm originally from Jefferson City, MO but the Navy has brought me to Groton, CT. Prior to that I was stationed in Georgia and South Carolina. After spending my first 18 years in MO and then another 10 in the Southeast, I became really accustomed to good barbecue. It was definitely a culture shock to move to New England and not have a good bbq joint on every corner. Three years ago I finally decided to purchase my own smoker and make my own southern style bbq. After researching for several months I finally decided I wanted a Yoder Wichita. The nearest dealer was over an hour away so I called them to see if they had a Wichita and luckily they did! I drove up that same weekend and got it. After three seasons I must say this is one of the best purchases I've ever made. I just smoked 2 pork butts this past weekend and they were my best yet. I've also done baby back and spare ribs, brisket, chicken, shrimp, bacon, and turkey. The Yoder Wichita maintains temperature so well and is so easy to use, I've never had so much fun spending all day cooking.
