Hi my name is Rick and i am 58 years old and have been doing my smoking and grilling on a Weber Kettle for years and now i wanna take that leap into a Pellet Smoker thanks to Malcolm Reed, whos videos i watch on youtube and he is the one responsible for selling me on either the YS 480 or YS640 I haven't made up my mind as of yet but am leaning towards the 640 since it's only $200 more and will probably be happier with this model. I haven't ordered it yet but plan to soon as i can afford it.

Keep the pellets dry and off of the ground and they should last for quite a while. Moisture will do the most damage to a pellet...besides fire. ;)

Thanks Kirby, I plan to buy half a pallet which i think is about 30 #20 bags and gonna keep them in my house away from moisture but wasnt sure how long they would stay usable if not used right away?

The most important thing is to not store pellets directly on the floor (especially concrete), and also not touching any outside wall.
