Newbie to smoking and really excited to get my hands on they YS640. I should have mine by next Friday and I should have my first Yoder experience by Saturday. Any tips on seasoning the unit?

Many threads here about that, look under pellet grills. It's also in the manual, you can DL it on the Yoder site.
Actualyy, it was right here.

Welcome aboard!
Follow the directions in the manual for startup. Let it run for 1 hour at 350 to burn off manufacturing oils, etc.
You can then either wipe the grates clean or wash with soap and water when they are cooled down.
Clean out the ash from the burn grate.
Now use a high temp cooling oil, peanut or canola oil work great, a spray can of PAM works great too, to cover all the grates and if you desire, the inside of the cooker. start the cooker again and let it run at 350 for an hour to season the grates. Once cool, wipe the grates to remove excess oil, if any, and it is ready to cook.
welcome...

Welcome from the IE. I just got my YS640 last Saturday, and have already went thru a 28# bag of pellets. You'll love using it!
