Hey All

Just got a YS640 with Competition Cart as a gift. It was just delivered and I'm in the middle of doing the initial burn-in.

So far it seems to be functioning well, keeping a steadyish temp. Will keep an eye on it the first few times. I understand that the temp can fluctuate a few degrees when heating, and that's expected. So far this seems to be an incredibly well built and very hearty smoker, and I am very anxious to get cooking in it.

Quick question for anyone. I looked at the TSB and it states that effective s/n 19192 the newer U28 firmware was used. My YS640 has a newer s/n, but is running U27. What is required to update the firmware? Thanks in advance.

Contact Yoder customer service for the firmware update. Send the serial number and manufacture date, along with your full shipping address and phone number to customerservice@yodersmokers.com

The TSB says the effective serial number, which means that serial number and all subsequent serial numbers with U27. Sorry for the confusion.

,,, also, add the place of purchase to the information that Kirby specified to send in the email.

I sent the email already. I am going to have to check the name of the dealer it was purchased from, since it was a gift. Thanks for the info!
