Newbie to smokers jumping in the deep end

been lurking here for a year or two.... Never joined just read. Have been torn for sometime on a pellet or a stick burner. Was tempted to buy a cheaper pellet or stick burner from the depot but realized it would be a headache and if I did enjoy it would end up wanting a Yoder. So here I am jumping in the deep end and planning on buying a 640 Comp from a local dealer. I have no smoking experience and or BBQ experience. What I do know is that my wife and I love BBQ when we travel south and figured why not make it a fun adventure. I can cook on a gas grill and charcoal grill no problem... Bear with my if you see me posting "dumb" questions. If you guys think I should be looking at something different feel free to point me in another direction!
