I ordered my YS640 on Nov 8th and got confirmation today of a Jan 3 delivery. I am beyond excited. I am moving up from an electric smoker and ugly drum set up.

Beside the initial burn in from the instructions, and bacon strip seasoning, I am open to any suggestions to get me on my way.

I am a little concerned on how to learn the proper dampner positions.

Arlington TX so stop by!

The damper is very easy. I thought it would be a pain but it's not. Shove it all they way to the left (fire box side) when direct grilling and then you can pulled it back right as you see fit for indirect grilling. When smoking/baking pull the damper all the way to the right and then back in 5-6" toward the firebox and you'll have very even temps on the cooker.

You'll love the cooker! Welcome!
