Hi, my name is John and I live in San Antonio. I just sold my WSM on Craigslist and will ordering a YS640 tomorrow.

I would appreciate your advice on use of the YS640:

Do you line your diffuser plate with foil?

Do you spray with PAM?

How do you clean your grates?

What is the best food for break-in/seasoning? Bacon? What about for the first real cook?

How do you store your pellets?

Do you leave your pellets in the smoker?

What is the best pellet flavor for the home cook – no competitions?

Any other advice/tips would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for joining the group!

Most of those are personal preferences. Balled up foil is great for cleaning grates. Keep pellets dry and off the ground so they don't get wet and not perform right.
