I guess this makes a local - about 40 miles from Yoder.
I got my 480 about 3 years ago. I do a lot of smoking and grilling.
Smoking pork shoulders and brisket are my favs. Low and slow.
Blackened chicken, salmon, and steak for grilling. I've got the grates but don't usually use them.
Question: can anyone really tell the difference in meat flavor based on pellets? I smell the smoke, but the meat always tastes the same. Thoughts? Exception is a mesquite steak smoked then grilled.

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for joining the group! I can tell a difference in different woods used. I can tell it more on a stickburner than pellet, but I can tell a subtle difference with pellets.
