			Howdy all.
Purchased a YS640 last year but only used it a few times. My YS is in SE Idaho where temps get pretty cold so I have seasonal usage at best. Thinking about the insulation blanket when I return and maybe the Comp cart. I've enjoyed the meat I've prepared so far, looking forward to firing it up again.
Take care and enjoy.

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for joining the group! An insulated jacket certainly is not needed, but you would likely notice a reduction in pellet usage with it and also likely make your cooking less "seasonal".

Hi BlueThunder, thanks from here as well and best wishes for a safe return home soon. Just a quick note on your usage as I'm in MA and the temps are obviously cold here too. I use a welding blanket and a couple of moving blankets on top of the welding blanket. No where near as pretty as the beautiful Yoder insulated blanket, but I've cut my pellet consumption by a significant fraction by using this combo, particularly in cold weather. I also note that temp recovery times are faster after opening the lid, when using a cover of some sort too. I was able to get a very heavy duty (I can't remember the thickness now...) welding blanket from Harbor Freight Tools for less than $40 and I had the two blue moving blankets/pads already so it was a really effective, cheap solution. Good luck and happy smoking!
