Hi all.
My YS640 trips the GFCI breaker about five minutes after I turn it on. It worked well in past seasons. I'm using the same outlet as in the past, but tried others, including a much newer one, but the have the same problem. Any suggestions?
Thanks so much.
Unplug the igniter and see if it stops tripping the GFCI. Here are some instructions to help: viewtopic.php?p=633#p633
Igniter is covered under warranty for 1 year from purchase date of the cooker, or the build date on the door plate if there isn't a purchase record.
If it is in warranty, send an email with the serial number and build date from the door plate, with purchase date, name, shipping address and phone number to customerservice@yodersmokers.com
If it is past the warranty period, you may purchase a replacement igniter by calling 877.409.6337, and selecting option 1 for sales, or order online here: http://www.atbbq.com/store/show/ys_pellet_igniter
Here is an article that contains information on testing the igniter: download/Best%20Practice%20and%20how%20to/Cooker%20Failing%20to%20Light%20.pdf
Here it is nearly a year after I asked about my problem and I've just now gotten around to trying what you suggested! Don't ask -- it was a busy summer last year. So, I unplugged the igniter turned it on and the GFCE didn't trip! So I guess I need a new igniter. Thanks again for your help.
