Hello,

Today on startup I vacuumed and cleaned firepot and then reassembled and with lid open started up the YS640. Got the U26 and pushed start and saw H1. After a few minutes I saw smoke and closed the lid. When I cam back about a half hour later I saw the temp reading 586* and when I opened the lid the pit was not hot and still had some residual smoke. Any ideas appreciated? Thanks

The 586 on the display, says that the control board can not get a reading from the thermocouple. The thermocouple can be dirty, have a loose connection to the controller board, a broken wire, or it could be bad.

Check the above and if you are still getting the 586, send an email to customerservice@yodersmokers.com, and include the serial number and date of manufacture from the door plate, along with your full name, shipping address and phone number.

The thermocouple is warrantied for 3 years from purchase date.
