ALCON:

Like others I'm sure, I am in a holding pattern to purchase one of the new Yoder Cimarron Pellet Cookers and like my late mother would always say, "patience is a virtue". With that, as much as I have time for, I've been trying to read on different social media means, any and all comments/concerns as it relates to a product that isn't even available yet. The most repetitive question I've read is the concern over if one pellet hopper can handle the 2250" sq. in. cooking space of the Cimarron. Some say that the YS480 and YS640 are the crème de la crème related to overall even temp control as there is less to heat. I've heard that one hopper heats the YS1500 just fine, it simply burns more pellets. I would think the Cimarron would burn even more pellets, but the one hopper configuration will work just fine. Pellet consumption is not a major concern to me as I buy by the ton or more and the price is pennies on the dollar. Thoughts? Comments?

Happy Smoking!

Bottom line? This is exactly why the Cimarron Pellet Cooker isn't available yet as in true Yoder fashion, they WILL NOT release until it is perfect like every other one of their pellet cookers.

I cook on a 640 and a 1500, and I find that the 1500 can actually use less pellets over a cook than the 640 does. The are no testing results that we can share at this time, but consider the preceding statement, and consider metal mass in the equation.

Yoder Herb,

Do you know if the YS Cimarron Pellet Cooker will have a pellet dump?

It will not have a pellet dump. The easiest way of removing pellets from the hopper, is to use a bucket head vacuum. This allows you to remove the pellets from the hopper and auger, directly into a storage bucket

Yoder Herb,

Heard last week on a forum that the new Cimarron Pellet might indeed have a pellet dump. Fact of fiction? I use a bucket head anyway, just curious.

We are always working on improvements for our cookers. There are still design changes in the works for the Cimarron, so it is impossible to make statements on what the final design will be at this time.
