I am still having one hell of a time trying to find the sweet spot where the temps are the same across the grates. dampener 5 inches out, 5 inches in. its enough to drive me nuts. all I've read is how yoders hold very consistent temps throughout the cooker. I haven't found that 'special spot for the dampener. please advise or point me in the right direction. :?

My damper is pulled all the way out to the right, and then back in about 5". Stays there`100% of the time. I mostly cook on mine now. I went through months of trying to make it do what I thought it should do, until I realized I had burned more pellets trying to get it to match my assumptions than actually cooking food.
