Does opening the lid really make a difference?

Here is a short video that will illustrate the following (click the link below for the video):

1. The Yoder Smokers pellet cooker controller is the best on the market, as it reacts immediately, and starts to compensate for temperature fluctuations immediately. Do this same test on any other brand of cooker and time how long they take to react.
2. Opening the lid/door does cause temperature swings and erratic behavior. Not just in Yoder cookers, but all cookers, no matter how quickly the lid/door is opened and closed.

These temperature variations and erratic behavior are amplified tremendously the longer the lid/door is kept open, and is even worse if liquid is introduced into the cooking chamber by spritzing, spraying or mopping.
