I am doing a 13.6 lb Boston Butt. Can someone give me approximate cooking times at say 250 degrees. I am having people over for dinner on Sunday at 5:00pm. When would be a good time to put meat in smoker? Thanks for replies I get.

It all depends on the meat, how you trim, if you inject, where it is in the cooker, etc. Rough estimate is 1 to 1.5 pounds an hour. If it is done early,, wrap in foil, then towels and put into a cooler. It will stay hot for up to 4 hours.

So I gave you wrong info. The Butts I am doing are 2 6.5lb butts. Would this change the strategy at all? I am assuming cook time is less with smaller butts.

Yes, less weight, less time.
