Hello,

Just picked up the ys640 and was super excited to grill this weekend. Got it all put together and then plugged it in. U29 shows on the screen and then goes blank. Tried to click the start button and nothing happens. Tried pushing on it harder after reading some posts on here but still nothing. So I turned off and unplugged for 5 mins and read more on the forums. Plugged in again and turned it on, same thing, u29 and then blank, pressing start does nothing.

The burn pot has no pellets in it and grate is in correctly.

Not sure what else to do. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Push the start button harder. The button is a decal over a hidden button. Send us an email with tge serial number and build date of your cooker at customerservice@yodersmokers.com if this doesn't work.

Wow, ended up almost having to push through the decal but I got her started. Thanks!

I'm new to my YS640 also. All of my buttons have to be pushed very hard. I went through the same thing the first time I started it. Though it was broken.
