When I hit the prime button to raise the temp ,I hold it and don't hear any pellets dropping and the temp does not raise not sure if its working how do i tell its working. Thanks Pete

The prime button only works if the START button has been pushed.

We need more complete information on what is happening, and what has transpired to the point of when you questioned if the cooker is working or not.

was cooking wings and wanted to kick up the heat for a few minuets to get a char ,so i hit the prime button as per instructions and only hear a few pellets drop. question does it dump a lot of pellets or a few cuz i only hear a few dropping.

When holding the prime button in, the auger will run constantly until the button is released. If you don't also change the set temperature, the controller will compensate back to the temperature set on the controller.
