Ok, I have a dumb question. I am smoking meat loaf today and after that I am going to do a brisket. I want to change my pellets for a different flavor. Besides just scoping them out, is there an easier way to get them out?

Guess you could use the shop vac. Have a special shop vac for pellet flavor change. I think using a plastic cup works just fine. Have a great weekend.

I use an empty Folgers container for the big amounts, and a small, kid sized plastic cup for the remainder.

What to go low tech, use a small container to scoop out the pellets. remember, you don't have to get them all out, as the cooker will run pellets into the fire for 20 to 30 minutes during heat up.

For the high tech way, buy a bucket lid style vacuum and a storage bucket to put it on. Then you can use this vacuum to suck out all the pellets from the hopper and into the bucket. Hopefully that makes sense. If not, let me know.
