Hi All

I have had my YS1500 for a couple of month now and one thing that is bugging me is when I start the unit I choose 350F on digital controller but it only ever reaches 250F on Left door Gauge & 225F on lower Right Gauge? I have put a Tappecue on Grate and its reads same as gauges? Is my unit not calibrated properly? A few of my friends here in Australia have same problem.
I have cooked on many different pellet grills and Digital Controller Temp matches pit temp but not with this unit.

Thoughts

Cheers

Mitcho

Since you are in Australia, have you contacted David at Grill Pro? david@grillpro.com.au

Here is our generic temperature checklist which might help to get you started on figuring things out: download/Best%20Practice%20and%20how%20to/Temperature%20Issues%20Check%20List.pdf

A probe above the main grate will read llower in a pellet smoker than the set point. The heat is radiant from the bottom, some heat is from the air etc. There is more temp diff than a smoker with a offfset firebox.

Something you learn about the diff of smokers.

I'm doing 9 racks of baby backs this coming weekend on my YS 640. 6 on the bottom, 3 on top. They will get rotated every hour.

Just checking back in with you to see how you are doing with the checklist that I linked to for you.

If you have any further information from the checklist, it will help us, to help you, figure things out.

Hi Herb

I have gone through all questions and it doesn't seem to be any of those thing I will conduct the temp test and document results.

YS1500 Serial No. 26685
Man Date: 10.19.16
Firmware: b20

We checked the fan type and it appears to be correct
