Hello @all,

last year I used a GMG Daniel Boone Pellet Grill, in order to have more stable temps within the gril and on the grates I bought a downdraft (Don Godkes). And yes I could find a lot of evidences that the downdraft worked very well.

End of last year I switched over to Yoder products, and I am really satisfied with my YS640 so far and all the accessories.
Last weekend I cleaned the office and I found the receipt of the downdraft for the GMG. And than I have started to think about to buy one for the Yoder.

What do you think (advantages, risks etc.)

Thanks in advance

Lasse

The use of any product that changes the designed air flow of the cooker, especially the one you mention, will void the warranty of the cooker.

Why add to the perfect pellet smoker? Had mine for 3+ years.

Why is there nothing mentioned about this on the FAQ on the website? On the main website, where is the warranty information anyway? Can't find anything regarding warranty other than the odd statement in the community forum regarding add on items.

There are people out there that want to impart more smoke into their food than what the pellets alone can provide. They use various ways to achieve this and most don't have any idea that they might be voiding their warranty by doing so, since there isn't anywhere on the website that states this.

Perhaps a separate page or click button on the website directing to the WARRANTY would be helpful??

Here is an article on "smoke" flavor: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=1365

Pretty simple on the warranty, anything that changes the airflow, modifies the cooker body, or electronics, will void the warranty. We have had numerous customers who have had severe temperature issues, premature failures and even auger burn back when attempting to modify the cooker from it's "as designed" state.
