I purchased the two piece heat diffuser. I have cleaned the old diffuser plate and am ready to put it into storage. Is there any type of treatment/spray I need to do to the surface before storing to help prevent rust?

I discarded mine. What does it do that the two-piece diffuser doesn't? Well, besides warp.

I suppose a light coat of oil then wrapped in newspaper would suffice. But I agree with Ware though. I'd give it the old heave ho

I kept mine. Oiled it and put it in a trash bag and taped it shut. Good steel for a project, never know when I'll need a zombie killing diffuser plate.
