I've seen it mentioned in a couple of threads but I was wondering what the user feedback was on the new diffuser. My diffuser is warped and I either need to upgrade through the upgrade program or purchase the diffuser with the door. I do a lot of slow cooking and finishing off with a sear so I think I would use it but it is kind pricey. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Well I got the diffuser with the door. Makes for easy cleanup on shorter cooks, just reach in and empty the ashes in the burn pot. It's also nice for easy searing, no need to remove all the grates, just the one side, pop the cover off, put the grill grates on (Flat side up is how I like them for steaks great sear) and cook the steaks. I do a reverse sear on thick 1 1/2" steaks. Just put them to the right till IT is 100f, then sear to 125-130 IT and dune.

well worth it. It makes it easy to clean and you can't beat a steak smoked and then seared.

I picked one up in Wichita yesterday. The price still seems really high but the way I use my Yoder I'm sure I'll get use out of the door. It's definitely much heavier than my original deflector.

I'll let Herb answer on warranty but in my opinion I would not put real wood in there with little to no means to control the fire. My suggestion would be a smoking tube, see link below. I have one and many on this forum do as well. They are great for supplemental smoke or for cold smoking. Check it out! I think it'll be safer and more effective for you!

What is the serial number and build date from the door plate on your cooker?

Where did you purchase your cooker?

We require this information to provide support and register the warranty. You may also register the warranty here: http://www.yodersmokers.com/warranty-registration-form/, since you refuse to provide the required information formally, after 4+ requests from us.

I feel the cooker does a fine job without supplimental help, so I have never used the product myself. My guess would be between the diffuser and the lower grate, where the fire hits the diffuser from underneath.

One issue in pellet smokers is a lot of the oxygen has been used up in the smoker already. I put my Owens BBQ Tube smoker to the far left near the door. It's easy to light there. Try there.
