Grill Grates for YS1500?

For all you YS1500 owners out there, did you buy the grill grates for the smoker and if so, is it worth it, or do you really just use the 1500 as a smoker and don't need the grill grates?

I did purchase the grill grates and have used them often. I found that the standard grate would have the tendency to stick if not hot enough. I also like the grill marks.
