I have the Loaded Wichita. I have done three butts at once, and I am considering making a large batch for a church picnic in the spring. I was wondering the most butts anyone has SUCCESSFULLY done at one time in their Wichita. If anyone replies "16", I will need a picture for the future Yoder hall of fame!

I've done 6 at a time, and let me tell you it was tight. It was for a church event as well, so I was doing them a couple of days ahead of time and knew I'd be reheating them in the oven anyway, so I think I wound up pulling them off around 180 instead of 195 as I'd prefer. Not ideal, but for doing 6 butts when the temp was below zero at the beginning of the smoke, I'd be willing to call it success! I think in the future I'd try to limit it to 4, however.

Thanks for the info and great pictures (with snow in the background). I put my smoker away for the winter, figuring it would be to cold to smoke. Looks like I'll be pulling it out this weekend.

Too cold to smoke? I don't understand the concept. ;)

I can dig it!...since we're talking about it, do you leave your Wichita out all year round, and if so, how hard is the weather on it. This is my first winter with my Yoder, and I thought best to put it away in the shed to keep it out of the snow, but I miss it so much.

I do leave my Wichita out all year. I have the Yoder cover for it, which to be honest isn't as helpful as I was hoping it would be. The current material faded badly and provides minimal water protection. (see picture)

I know they recently updated some things regarding the cover, and hope it's a better material and fit than it was previously, but I don't know. I wouldn't want mine to get snowed on all year, but don't have room in the garage and don't want to put ruts in my yard moving the beast back and forth! I've smoked in subzero temps with good results (I think it was about -5 when I took this pic, I had the pit uncovered the night before so it'd be quick to roll out of bed and start the fire, hence the frost), so I'd say get a cover and make it a year round thing!
