What is everyone using as a cover? I have had a Kingman Competition for a couple months now and every time it rains the firebox ends up full of water. Plus it's causeing rust. I know I could just through a tarp over it, but I'm hoping to find a better solution.

Has anyone had one custom made for their smoker? Any other ideas?

I ordered a cover with mine. I guess they are back ordered. I don't know how they can be back ordered. I ordered my Wichita 6-7 weeks ago. Got it last Friday. Now I know things happen but probably could plan a little better. It is the beginning of winter and would like to protect the 2,500$ purchase.

I ended up ordering a 12 x 9 tarp and a few bungee cords for my Kingman backyard that I'll use from now till spring, and then leave uncovered till the next freeze. I was able to strap it down well enough that it actually fits pretty good.

Are the covers still back ordered. Could someone check on this. I payed for it already 9 weeks ago. How back ordered are they? I would like to protect the 2,300$ of investment I just bought off you guys. Winter isn't coming...it's here! Lol.

We are still currently back ordered on these covers. We hope to have some in the week of the 22nd of December. Sorry for the inconvenience. We are working with a new vendor for covers on our wood smokers so it is taking some time to get things worked out. Covers have always been a 13-16 week lead time, we sold way more this year than we anticipated. We will keep you updated on the progress.

Awesome. Thanks. I'll just use a tarp until then.

Good info on the covers. Does your new vendor use a different material? The one that I got has significantly faded in less than a year's time. It also doesn't repel water very well at all anymore, which means it doesn't really protect my sweet Wichita as well as I'd like. It also pulls between the firebox and the pit. It'd be great to know if these issues have been ironed out.

I hope to be able to pick up a few Wichita covers today.

The covers will be made from a different material than the previous model. The covers are made from a 800 denier material.

Ok guys, seriously? Jan 8 you said you might pick up some covers. It's February 1. I guess I'll check back once a month.

Here is the latest update on the cover information. I approved the proto type cover. My Purchasing Manager is on the phone as I type getting a update from them. I expect we should have them in the anytime now. I apologize for the long drawn out process. We are working with a new vendor and expect excellent quality covers from them. This has turned out to be a much slower process than we anticipated. We appreciate your patience and business.

If the covers are as nice as the smoker...take as long as need. Thanks.

Any chance of getting a new & improved cover at a discounted price to replace prematurely faded, poorly fitting ones? If so that'd be great. If not, I still love the smoker. Thanks.

Got mine today. Quick question. There is nothing accounting for the smoke stack. So the left side is all jacked up and lop sided. This how it's supposed to be? The weighted handle has an extra fitting that fits nice. The handle on the firebox fits nice. The life handle on the main chamber fits nice. But the smoke stack makes the side all messed up.

You should turn the chimney down and put the cover on.

Do you have any new covers available for non-adjustable smokestacks? (looks like the option to turn the stack down is new).

We have the fixed stack version on order now. We are due to have them in late April.
