After I cleaned my kingman I was wondering what the placement should be inside the cooking chamber. I noticed it can slide back and forth just wanted to know the optimal location

The angled end of the plate should be inside the firebox, and then the plate should be pulled toward the chimney to make sure that the angled end comes in tight contact with the inside wall of the firebox.
